Plaque with heavy silver chased scroll mounts and plain silver concave reverse. This surrounds a monochrome transfer printed enamel rondel of the Reverend John Fletcher in profile with acanthus leaf border. Birmingham C1770.
NB: The Rev William John Fletcher was born in Switzerland as Guillame Jean le la Flechere in 1729 and emigrated to England in 1750 and became an Anglican Vicar, working with John Wesley becoming a key interpretor of Wesleyan theology and one of Methodism's first great theologians. He was known for his piety and generosity and died in 1785.
