A rare 17th Century Silver Mounted and Engraved Colonial Tortoiseshell Box. The engraving to the lid can be compared to engraving on 17th century Spanish colonial silver Provenance: Althorp House (seat of the Spencer Family since 1508, family of Diana, Princess of Wales).
