Wonderful Regency era Georgian brooch, the high carat gold frame deeply carved with flowers and leaves, the centre an oval plaque of carnelian finely carved as a recumbent hound, the carnelian chosen to give the effect that the dog has darker ears and some patches on his body, and the background carnelian has swirls of colour that give the effect of a mountain and the sun.
