UNUSUAL ENAMELLED CANE HANDLE
An early 19th Century English verge in a silvered and enamel walking stick top. Full plate fire gilt movement with pillars. Pierced and engraved cock, engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Wound through the white enamel dial later painted with a scene of a castle, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Contained in an unusual silvered enamel case mounted on a wide metal ferrule to attach to the top of a walking stick to act as a handle. The two halves of the enclosed case in green cloisonne enamel, the top additionally decorated with polychrome cherry blossom.
