LARGE SCALE MID CENTURY BOTANICAL MODEL
A large wooden hand carved and hand painted teaching aid botanical model of Ravenala Madagascariensis, commonly known as the traveller’s palm, although it belongs to the banana plant family. Circa 1930/50, each leaf stalk has a small numbered paper label, and is detachable, except for the top one which has been glued, perhaps missing its peg… Hugely decorative and probably quite a rare example, standing just under a meter high.
